Our classic trailer today comes with the release of its remake, “Fright Night”. The film centers around a young man who has a hunch that his neighbor might be a vampire. With the aid of a struggling magician, he seeks to destroy the evil that lies next door. Good thing too, in the remake, the young man gets The Doctor! TARDIS NEWS: ‘Doctor Who’ Season 6, Episode 7 Prequel – ‘A Good Man Goes To War’
There’s been a lot going on with The TPIB crew lately, sorry for the lack of news from the Tardis. BUT! I have some great news! The BBC has released a prequel trailer to the mid-series finale for this Saturday’s broadcast of Episode 7, ‘A Good Man Goes To War’. Hit the jump to see the prequel and the trailer. Spoilers lie ahead!
Prepare for the return of the Cybermen!
Looks pretty awesome if you ask me!
Oh yeah, the Cybermen have returned in glorious form! Now obviously we all have a lot of questions going into this episode. First of all, the prequel mentions that the baby Amy Pond is carrying is in fact The Doctor’s. Now we know that The Doctor would never come between Amy and Rory. The Doctor has too much love and respect for that. So perhaps this big blue guy’s statement is simply saying that the baby belongs to the Doctor because of Pond’s association with him perhaps? Either way, it’s a mystery!
The next question is what exactly is so special about River. We know that she and the Doctor are pretty much husband and wife… when they meet in their respected timelines. We know that in season 4, David Tennant’s Doctor met her upon her death, though it was not the first meeting for her. She explained that their relationship plays out in reverse. She meets him close to his death, he meets her close to her death. In an earlier episode this season, we saw River kiss the Doctor ever so passionately… only to be his first kiss from her… He’s going to find out very soon who she really is! Who is she!? Wife? Girlfriend? Who knows?
The last big head scratcher is who this John Connor-esque kid is. The child may grow up to be a weapon? is it human? is it a Time Lord?… is it a Cyberbaby? And what will become of Pond and Rory?
So many questions!!!! See you Saturday.
By the way. it looks like a Tardis News Podcast is on the horizon. I’ll keep you posted for more info. Happy travels!
TARDIS NEWS: ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’ Trailer, Bill Pullman, and Mikai Phiefer Roles Revealed
Well news has been a little slow around the Tardis as of late. The sixth series is up and running, so there’s not a lot of room for spoilerish stuff. THe press tour for Matt Smith and the rest of the Doctor Who cast has died down, so no news on appearances… I guess there’s just nothing to report… or is there?
Fresh from the Hub, it’s the trailer for new USA/UK crossover ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’! Hit the jump to see the trailer.
As you can see, the budget is much higher! Now we finally know the exact (or close to) roles of Bill Pullman and Mekhi Phifer. Pullman plays a death row inmate who’s sentence is carried out. Due to the ‘Miracle Day’ he is released from prison… let’s face it, the guy served his time. Phifer plays a CIA agent who should have died in a car crash, bust still lives to tell the tale. After some digging, he discovers the Torchwood institute, and wouldn’t you guess who shows up!
Torchwood: Miracle Day premiers July 8 at 10pm et/pt on Starz

TARDIS NEWS: Steven Moffat Speaks Out, David Tennant in ‘Fright Night’, and ‘Torchwood’ Radio Dramas
TARDIS NEWS: Steven Moffat Speaks Out, David Tennant in ‘Fright Night’, and ‘Torchwood’ Radio Dramas?

Only a few things on the agenda for today as we gear up for tonights broadcast of DOCTOR WHO: ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ written by Neil Gaiman! We have some news on David Tennant in ‘Fright Night’, as well the adventures of ‘Torchwood’ will carry past Miracle Day and to the radio waves and more!
I posted last night the new trailer and poster from the upcoming remake ‘Fright Night’. Unfortunately, I was not able to post much information about one of the film’s central characters Peter Vincent, an illusionist turned slayer! And as we all know, Vincent will be portrayed by the tenth Doctor, David Tennant. Thankfully, after scowering the net for a while, I was able to track down a promotional shot! Hit the jump to see the shot!

Next up, it was announced this week that as production is wrapping up on ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’, the cast is currently starting production in LA for a new Torchwood radio drama that will be hitting the radio waves later this summer. Sounds interesting… can I get it in a Podcast?
Lastly, producer and writer of Doctor WHo, Steven Moffat spoke out this week regarding fans of how the online fans ‘spoil’ arcs and twists of yet unaired episodes. Here’s a quote from Mr. Moffat:
“It’s heart-breaking in a way, because you try and tell a story, and stories depend on surprise, stories depend on shocking people, stories are the moments you didn’t see coming – those are what live in you and burn in you forever. If you are denied those, it’s vandalism.
To have some twit who came to a press launch write up a story in the worst, most ham-fisted English you can imagine and put it on the Internet … I just hope that guy never watches my show again, because that’s a horrific thing to do. It is exactly like that boring man in the pub, who waits until you’re nearly finished your joke and jumps in with the punchline, and gets it slightly wrong. You hate that guy, you just hate those guys too – can you imagine how much I hate them?
… It’s only fans who do this – or they call themselves fans – I wish they could go and be fans of something else!”
My writing skills aren’t that bad, I assure you Mr. Moffat. He is refferring to all of us in the online community who are just trying to find every bit of information about the show because we love it so much. Granted I’m relatively new to Doctor Who, but I love this show, I really do. I’m looking for new bits on upcoming episodes because I love it so much. I share it on here because I think other people might find it interesting or engaging. If the content we’re posting could be anywhere near spoiler territory, we always issue a spoiler warning to ensure that those who do want to be completely surprised can do so. The heavy hitters of the online community do the same, /Film, AICN, Coming Soon.net, IGN etc. To have a writer that I really respect come out and say such a generalized statement is quite hurtful.
THANKFULLY!!! Steven Moffat made an additional comment on Twitter regarding his remarks,

So Mr. Moffat, we here at ThePageIsBlank.com sympathize with your stance on Spoilers, while we would never spoil anything on the show without a Spoiler Warning on the front page, to make such a generalized statement of the online fan community was in bad form. But even the best of us make mistakes and sometimes we just have our bad days. I’m a happy fan of the show and your writing is inspiring and fantastic. We love ya!

New ‘FRIGHT NIGHT’ Trailer and Poster
I was so tempted to put this under the Tardis News segment. Namely because everyone’s favorite Doctor, David Tennant is in this and he is an incredible actor. But sadly, he’s only in one shot of the trailer so I didn’t think it was quite necessary. Take the leap to see the new trailer and full poster for the upcoming reboot of ‘Fright Night’!

Awesome eh? Colin Farrell looks creepy as all hell, and the action looks fantastic! Someone should call Buffy.

Again, no David Tennant!Ah well. Check out Fright Night when it hits this August!

TARDIS NEWS: ‘Torchwood’ Blu-Ray, and Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Doctor’s Wife’
It’s been a while since we’ve taken off in the ol’blue box. After seeing some different news sources and what not, I figured it was time for take off. We have some news on the Torchwood complete series box set, as well, one of the greatest writers alive today, Neil Gaiman talks about his episode of Doctor Who entitled, ‘The Doctor’s Wife’.
First up, we take a trip to the hub with Torchwood. The new blu-ray box set will be released through Warner Bros. Home video and BBC Video and will most likely be a re-release of the current versions of the series now available. The details on the special features and box art have been a bit elusive, so nothing yet, but we do know that this set will sell for about $129.95 on Blu-ray and $119.98 on DVD. ‘Torchwood: The Complete UK Series’ is due on shelves July 19, 2011. Just in time for ‘Miracle Day’.
I’ve just recently caught up in my watchings of Doctor Who and I’m officially ready for this week’s episode entitled ‘The Doctor’s Wife’. Why am I excited you ask? Well for starters, I’m hoping for some answers regarding the character River Song. We know that she and the Doctor share a special bond, DO IT ALREADY! But also because the script was penned by one of (if not THE) best writer of our time, Neil Gaiman. Here’s the words from the man himself! Careful… SPOILERS MAY LIE AHEAD
And here’s a little bit from this week’s guest star! Suranne Jones!
So maybe I won’t be finding more out about River Song… ah well. Still excited for this episode! Check back in for my review of the episode!
